if you dont it will retard the timng as much as it can. i think it will go to 12 degrees of knock. (i think)

whoever does your comversion get the to put the resistor in the pcm and you dont have to change it and if you go back to obd2 pcm (for emisions if you have that where your at) you can just plug in your old pcm with no trouble.

get madwolf to do it. he did mine and he is great to deal with.

do you know if he added the resistor or not. it he did you are good to go. if you oredered a conversion pcm im sure he put it in. but if you just ordered a obd1 pcm he probably didnt.

I did some searching and found that a 3.9ohm resistor is soldiered(sp) to pin 22 or 23 ( don't have notes here close by), then also connected to a ground. Sounds pretty simple. You may be able to do a search in the Computer Diagnostic section for the correct pin to attach the resistor.

I have not done this yet, but will be soon. I did buy a pcm the other day.

I think you mean 3.9kohm (3900 ohm). It goes from pin d22 on the blue connector to ground.

That sounds correct.... I was going off of memory without the notes close by.
