Obd1 dowloadable software??
 

Trying to read code on 94 Z. Found my old connecting obd1 cable just need to know what software is everyone using these days that i can download on laptop??.

Thanks fred just downloaded program on laptop and noticed my old cable has a 9 pin serial port end. Of couse my newer laptop doesnt have this port so looking to get a new usb obd1 port cable now to run the scan.

Fred does the obd1 store ses light codes. My light came on few seconds then stayed off a couple times driving now. Will i be able to still read whatever code it threw if light is currently off??

Should remain in volatile memory until the vehicle has completed a specific number of “drive cycles” without the fault recurring. You can find more info about each code and what happens in the factory service manual. If you don’t have a factory service manual, free download here:

If battery backup power to the PCM is lost, even for a few seconds, volatile memory will be lost. Don't disconnect a battery cable, or pull the “PCM BAT” fuse.

Ok thanks i ll order a cable asap and wont drive it hoping to pull code it threw. I ll keep thread updated once i find out more info
