What is the purpose of converting an OBD-II car to OBD-I? Does it have to do with going from a 2 cat setup to a 1 cat setup? What benefits does the conversion offer? Is it helpful if you don't have to worry about emissions?

Software for scanning & logging is free and software for tuning is much much cheaper for OBD1 vs. OBD2.
