OB2 - OBD1 question
 
since obd2 has a crank position sensor and the obd1 does not what if any function does the (CPS) have, is it deleted via obd1?

it plugs the hole in the timing cover..........

so it really does not matter anymore if i convert to obd1 pcm

Misfire detection is waht I was told.
OBDI does not support it, and I dont have one on my car.

There is no provision in the OBD-I PCM to monitor the CPS, so it never knows there is one.

Birdman is right... the CPS is used only for misfire detection, in OBDII.
