o2 sensors
o2 sensors
Since I put lts of my 1995 camaro I havent been able to get it to run just rite. I can tell because I can just feel it. I changed the plugs wires gaskets and have been narrowing it down to I spliced the 02 wires so they where long enough. What can o2s do if they are bad or not getting the correct reading.
How did you go about splicing them? They have to be soldered, and should be the same gauge wire. (i was told that bigger is okay but i'm not positive on that) Butt connectors, or any criimp connectors are no good, resistance is different i believe.. being that it is in millivolts, it doesn't take much to mess up the reading.
Personally on my 94, I found that one extension was enough. You may try soldering it first as you wouldn't be out much money that way and it's handy for future projects.
At Wal-Mart... don't waste your time with the super cheap soldering iron. Get at least the yellow gun style iron, I believe it $20 or $25. Heat shrink over your connection and use electrical tape over that if you're the extra cautious type.

Does it run fine when you first start the car then it will start to run bad/miss when the car heats up? If so it is the o2s, that is what happened when my o2s went bad.
I dont think it is the butt connectors because I made home made extensions, with the end off an old o2 and a new pigtail, and I just butt connected them together, with no problems
