O2 sensors

I did a search but couldnt come up with an answer.

Changing O2 sensors, is this a hard job?

Do I just disconnect the old and plug in the new one?

What tools do I need?

You know what on second thought does shoebox have a link to accomplish this task?

Re: O2 sensors

Its easy. Jack the car locate the O2s on the y pipe and dissconnect the connector. You can use a wrench...7/8ths I think but I would use an O2 socket so you don't slip and round them out, remove O2 sensors. Insert new O2s and tighten, plug in and drive away.

Re: O2 sensors

How much do Ac Delco's go for? Its for a 94 LT1

02 sensors with alot of miles on them but not throwing a code, is that odd? Will there be a big power difference during part throttle?

Re: O2 sensors

O2 sensors don't throw codes unless they are totally dead. If you order them from jason cromer they are about 35 each, you have two.

Re: O2 sensors

Yup, I just ordered mine from Jason Cromer and paid $34.85 ea. plus shipping. These a AC Delco too. Pep Boys tried screwing me for $55.00 for Bosch O2s....no thanks.

Re: O2 sensors

DO NOT put any antiseize or RTV on the threads. If you use a rust penetrating oil to remove the old ones, make sure it is all gone before you install the new O2's. Any of that stuff can destroy new O2's. The AC Delco O2's already come with the required thread prep on them. It states it right on the package.
