Re: o2 sensor issue...

Is it the same sensor on the same bank, or did the sensors on both sides fail? Did you just do a header install? If so, the coating on the headers tends to kill 02 sensors during initial startup. Also, another thought, the Bosch sensors have a hit or miss reputation on here. Alot of people have had trouble with them and have had better luck just using the Delco replacements.

How do you know the O2 sensors failed? What were the symptoms?

Re: o2 sensor issue...

well it would run fine on a cold start then start idling really bad and burn rich. then the SES light poped on and it ran great. i figured it was the o2s but i wasnt sure cause i replaced both about and it ran alright for a day i belive. so i took it to a shop and they scaned it and he said the passenger side was sticking. that explains why the SES light would go on and off. i did the headers about a year and havnt had a problem till now. i guess ill try the oem replacements

No FLP, speed Inc, thunder and many others offer extensions for the o2's, did you happen to put new Header gaskets on and use RTV around the gaskets? I know RTV can sometimes cause o2's to fail with the curing compund attaching to the element in the o2.

Do you have the locking header bolts? If not, are the standard bolts snugged down?

For what? You can't use "O2 simulators" in the pre-cat position, and his 94 only has pre-cat sensors.

terrible 1:

Get the EXACT code that is turning on the SES light. There are several for the O2 sensors, and even though the code description includes the O2 sensors, it does not necessarily mean its the O2 sensor that is causing the problem. The problem may be somewhere else, and affecting the A/F ratio to the extent it sets the O2 sensor code(s). Replacing them without getting the code first was a mistake.

There is no code for an O2 sensor "sticking".
