noticable diff between modded exhaust & cutout?

sup fellows-here's the situation. Right now, I'm running Edlebrock TES shorty headers into a Random tech cat, into stock I pipe, into a flowmaster muff. The result is lotsa popping on deceleration. My question is, if I get a cut-out, will that popping go away, or will I have to get a hooker or magnaflow cat-back? Also, are cut-outs deep, or just loud? thanks guys

The popping would get worse.

My cutout is deep AND loud. Real deep and rumbly idling around, loud like a nascar when I mash the go pedal. Stock exhaust from headers back though so yours might sound different.

Agreed, by eliminating the muffler it's only going to get worse. If you want to get rid of it, just replace your Flowmaster muffler with a muffler with packing material in it.

I have edelbrock shorties, no cat and a cutout. Along with my hotcam and ported heads, I dont get all that much popping. Sometimes I do it on purpose, but other than that, I dont get that much popping during everyday driving and smashing the throttle everyonce and a while.
