well i just did the cam on my car,the cars been down a while now.

when i crank it, it turns over at a decent speed but it sounds like its a little tougher then it should be, the motor kinda sputters and pops a little but wont fire up, its almost like if a distributer were to be in backwards on an old style sbc.

anybody got an idea? im kinda lost here.. i cant seem to figure out what the problem is, could i have not lined up the opti? im just about positive that the timing gears are lined up, i thought of that. any other plugs.wires that'd cause this?

 

Check your alignment with the opti and make sure its in there correctly.

 

Agreed, tons of people on here put the opti on wrong and get a no start.

Pull it off and double check it, Also this would be a good time to double check you plug wire routing and timeing set.

Also might want to check you dowl pin length (do a search for that one)

 

cool guys i appreciate it and the more i think about it i was rushing to get the opti on.

wires i know are good because i clearly numbered them, and dowl pin i looked into thoroughly. thanks for the help so far, if anyones got another idea shoot.. ill try em all out tomorrow.
