No spark. Help.

Ok still working on the 94 lt1 swap into a friends 91. We have the engine turning over. We have vatts deleted out of the pcm via tuner cats. We have the thedt deturent relay bypassed. Now the plugs are reviving no spark I also cannot hear the injectors plusing. Im fixing to go outside and use shoebox's write up to test if the signial from the opti is reaching the coil. I will report back with my findings.

The oil pressure sensor isnt hooked us as we broke the old one and havent installed the new one. Will this kill the spark? I mean if the computer doesnt see any signal from the oil pressure sensor will it cut the spark?

Give me some other things to check. i have checked the opti harness and i have checked the wiring to the pcm and all is fine. We wired this one up the same way we did the last one. Its in my wiring wrie up in my sig.

thanks in advance guys.

Ok just got back from using shoebox's how to to check the icm for signal form the opti and the signal form the ecm/
the meter was set on Vdc200
When i checked voltage on pins a and d i got the same .005 reading.

When switched over to Vac200 The reading on pin b was 1.45

Im completely lost and cannot figure out why this car isnt getting spark.

I believe the pcm will kill the fuel pump without the oil pressure sensor.

oneslowz28 Nov 5, 2006 07:43 PM

But will it kill the spark?

for the day crew

There's no connection from the oil pressure sensor to the PCM, at least not on the F-Body.

oneslowz28 Nov 6, 2006 11:42 AM

ok now that we have ruled out the oil pressure sensor. What else could be causing this?

Injuneer Nov 6, 2006 01:07 PM

When you say the engine is "turning over" do you mean the starter is cranking it but its not attempting to fire?

Can you get a scanner on it, looking for DTC 16?

Sweetred95ta Nov 6, 2006 01:15 PM

A ground somewhere? Are you getting voltage at the injectors?

oneslowz28 Nov 6, 2006 01:52 PM

Fred, its not throwing a code. And yes the engine is turning via the starter and there is no spark. I checked the opti harness and the connectios at the pcm for corrosion. I also checked all the grounds and every fuse and everything is fine.

Benji, the injectors are not getting voltage either. Tested it with a noid light.

Sweetred95ta Nov 6, 2006 02:11 PM

Did you check the ignition fuse? I'm not a wiring guru, but I know there aren't too many things that will kill spark and fuel.

oneslowz28 Nov 6, 2006 02:17 PM

Yes i checked all the fuses and all fuseable links.

Injuneer Nov 6, 2006 02:22 PM

Do you have +12V on the pink wire at each injector?

oneslowz28 Nov 6, 2006 04:30 PM

ill check tomorrow and post the results
