no screen maf sensor
Hey guys I was cleaning out the camaro n found a box which has the two ends that hold the maf sensor together but no screen, the invoice has the previous owners name on it,i believe he was gonna use it for performance wise.
I researched about no screen maf sensor,I'm getting different results of ppls opinion, but wanted to see what u guys think. Thanks guys. 94 Chevy lt1 camaro z28 pretty much all mods that are common and bolt ons, bigger cam, all suspention etc. |
Re: no screen maf sensor
the screen has a purpose..it "stabilizes" the air going across the wire sensors giving a more "accurate & stable" reading of the MAF function to PCM
keep it on. |
Re: no screen maf sensor
You don't need new ends on a 94 to delete the screen. The screen is held in by a snap ring and is removable.
Leave it in there, for the reasons explained above. |
Re: no screen maf sensor
Ok thanks guys I appreciate information about that

Re: no screen maf sensor
Hey guys one thing I noticed that the coupling between the end of the maf sensor n my kn air filter the coupling that's inserted the maf sensor it's not the correct size I can't insert it all the way in,i looked at it bcuz in the 3rd gear my camaro is like jerking n hesitating,I'm not hearing misfire or popping.
but I just need to make sure it's called a coupling to hold the maf n end of the kn air filter |

Re: no screen maf sensor
Is the K&N a recent purchase? If so, is appears they are including a filler piece for the non-MAF 1993 cars, and making it a 1993-1997 kit. The filler piece on the end is not used on 1994-97 cars.
https://www.jegs.com/images/photos/5...-57-3010-1.jpg If that is not the problem you are having, try explaining it again, because what you wrote in post #5 is unclear. ....the coupling that's inserted the maf sensor it's not the correct size I can't insert it all the way in, If so, what is the outside diameter of the MAF senor end? What is the inside diameter of the short rubber coupling? |
Re: no screen maf sensor
OP
a picture of "your" MAF/intake connection issue will be helpful for any of us to better understand WTF your issue is.. Nothing goes "inside" the MAF...it should clamp on the outside, both ends |
Re: no screen maf sensor
If what you need is a coupling between the MAF and K&N, go to your home supply store and get a Fernco rubber sewer pipe coupling of the correct size. Warm it in some hot water to make it pliable.

Apologies if you felt any offense, personal or otherwise. My abbreviation was referring to your intake/MAF connection, certainly not you.
