Nitto drag radials

I am considering buying a set of 275/40/17 nitto drag radials and am wondering the best price, and any comments on theyre performance. Good/bad? And how many miles are they seeing before showin cords. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Prorac1

I have heard about 15 k out of the tires and about $140 per tire. My Friend w/ a '00 Stang was getting 1.8 sec 60' times. Matt

I just bought mine from Online tires
For 142 plus shipping.

Discount tires has them for 158 with free shipping, which should be a little cheaper, but they were in state for me, which meant i had to pay sales tax too, yuck.

with tread they are good in the rain.. when u get low is when they suck in the rain..
there is more wiggle in a hard left and right turn. the side walls give a little bit because they are meant to give so you get better 60 foots on the launch.
Ive had mine for 1000 miles and tread looks fine. Kinda of an ugly looking tire IMO.
Hooks way better than my re730's..

ditto on that. The tread design is cool, but the side walls are boring! The need lots of tire wet to get them looking even decent.

I run that exact tire. I have put just over 15K miles and the aren't to the wear indicators yet. They have been a great all around tire. I will buy another set in a month or so.

I got about a season outta the ones on my car now, I need to get new ones come spring, but I push them fairly hard. I've got about 9-10K outta them with a few trips to the track.

They stick to the road really well with tread, but if they're like mine with a slick down the center rain is fun... although I rarely drive my car in the rain anyway.

They're great tires, compared to bfg drs. They last about twice as long and hook just as good and are better in the rain. They're great tires.

Nittos in rain?

I was taking into consideration buying nittos 245/16 drag radials but my mechanic said that they hold like **** in raid. My car is a daily driver so I will drive in rain and some snow days. Should I buy these tires or what? I just need some good grip in "red light" racing....
