Nitto 555 Drag radial or BFG KD drag radial?
 

I need new rear tires badly to hold with my new 4.10 gears. What do you guys like better the nitto drag radial or BFG drag radial? I have a chance to get the BFG's for almost half off brand new however I heard BFG's wont last me as long as the nitto. WHat tire do you guys like better? which holds better on the street and strip? how many miles will you get out of the BFG compared to nitto?

Nittos will last longer than BFGs, but BFGs tend to hook better.

Nittos are more practical for the street, while the treadwear on the BFGs is more suited to occasional use.

I've cut 1.78 60's on the stock heads/cam/converter with BFGs, and could only nail mid 1.8s with Nittos. My recommendation is to buy a set of BFGs and 2 spare wheels and mount them. Swap the BFGs when track time rolls around. :)

If you're on the street a lot go for the nittos, if your at the track a lot then its the bfgs.

I've got the 555R's , and I'm really pleased with the performance on/off the track , from what I've heard the nitttos are better in the rain because of the tread pattern. I was told they have about 1/3 the life of a standard radial ..... but that will also depend on how many passes at the track you tally up :eek: I prolly have about 50-60 passes an mine still look fairly new. :D

all i know is you can use nittos in the rain comfortably, and the bfg's suck! this is my own first hand experience

I had the Nittos and wasn't all that impressed with them. If I get drag radials again I'm going with the BFGs.

I'd also mount them on an extra set of rims. I used mine on the street and at the track and on the street they threw up every little rock or anything else I ran over. I hated driving through parking lots and just hearing all the little rocks being tossed up in the fender wells...

If he gets 2 extra rims he might as well get E/T streets. Nitto's are your best choice IMO. But if the BFG's are cheap enough and you don't drive in the rain too much they will last around 8000 to 10000 miles. As long as your burnouts aren't to long.
