Those parts look fine for the price. If you want a real custom 52mm (at a cheaper price with better parts) do a search on David Koldos.

Besides, BBK sucks anyway.

Re: new throttle body from summit?

All Summit does is buy parts from name brand manufactures and sells them under their name to drop prices. If they sell it with the name brand they are only legally allowed to sell them at a certain price.

For example, I bought a pair of headers for my Silverado that were sold as Summit brand headers. When they showed up they were in a Pace Setter box. They only cost $150. When I searched around for what they normally cost I found them for about $250 or more.

I bet that it is the BBK TB and they are just selling them for less. It will more than likely show up in a BBK box.

There is a guy on ebay, Matt Blum, who makes ported 52mm TB's from stock 48mm's and they are a QUALITY product. I bought mine powdercoated black from him for $207 + $4 shipping, and if you return your stock TB as a core he'll refund you $42 and shipping, so in the end a 52mm TB costs you $165. Hard to beat that deal. If you have an airfoil from your 48mm he'll also match port that to 52mm for free.

Anymore info on this fellow? I'd be interested to look into that.

Here's an ebay auction for one of his non-powdercoated TBs. And I was slightly wrong, he refunds 40 for the core and 8.50 for shipping. You can see he goes to great lengths to assure you his product is reputable. Also, how many ebay sellers have you seen who have 567 feedback, 100% positive, not even a single negative...

He also sells some very nice throttle body plates (which is nice since MBA is out of business). Here are some pics of my TB and polished plate, installed.

Those pics only remind me of how worthless I am in the clean engine department.
