Angry new motor and idles rough need help!

ok i have a 94 z28 and i spun a bearing and so i got a motor from a 95 t/a and the motor was slightly different and damaged (valve covers and oil pan dented) but the intake manifold and the water pump and exaust manifolds were different and had to be swapped from the old motor.....we got the motor in and went to start and it crank fast and backfire...well the opti had moisture in it and we cleaned it and now it starts but seems to start rough and when start idles very badly and wn't rev up when hitting throttle and seems to bog down and die also in gear it wnt go seems tho it isnt getting any fuel and over heats majorly and i'm quit confused the service engine light is not on......i have no idea wat it is...and was wondering if anyone could have any idea wat it may b?

Shoebox mentioned the other day that if it cranks fast that's a sign the rockers are too tight. I don't know if he went by more than that but that's all he stated at the time.

yea but its not cranking over fast anymore it starts now fine just sometimes barely wants to start

I think what shoebox was refering to was the valves being so tight that they don't close, meaning the cylinders can't develop compression so the motor will turn very fast and wont start. How did the contacts look in the distributor cap and the contact on the rotor. How many miles on those parts?

i was looking into the symptoms of my car and it seems as tho its the cat melted down.....if the motor isn't letting out any of the exaust and aent breathing right would it cause it not to rev up? and its getting hot cause the exaust aent letting out the fumes....wat do you guys think? i'm gonna cut it off tomorrow to c ill tell u what happens
