New lifters with cam install needed??
 

I was thinking, to save a bit on my cam install how importand are new lifters?
cause stock there is already hydrolic holler lifters isnt there??

I cant find where someone else asked, sorry, I even searched. couldnt find what I needed.

I know its a good idea while I'm in there, but how good are the stockers?
I'm going with a cc306, and only have 60000km (30000 miles) on my car.

I was advised by CM when I did my heads and cam that it is not needed, they could have made some extra money but they said dunk them in oil and check the plungers.

doesnt the cc306 like to rev to 7 k? id personally want to pick up some comp r's if i were reving that high.

In a hydraulic roller setup, reaching 7000rpm isn't just your pistons. You need a rev kit that will force pressure down on the lifter bodies to prevent valve float. Let alone the $$$ in lightweight valvetrain components.

New lifters are not required, but I believe it is advisable to replace the lifters. They are a wear item and since you are that far into the engine it just makes sense to install a fresh set. While I am sure there are several cases where a used set went another 50k miles after a new cam was installed, I'll bet there are many more where they are crying and wishing they had. ;)
