after hearing people talk about "icing" thier intakes i came up with and idea. This is my next project for metals class at school, its going to be a short air intake, probally going to start off with one of those "ricer" cheap intake for $30 from autozone. and fabricate some sort of "canister" for about the strait part that is insulated and water proof with and opening with a cap on the top, so that i can pack crushed ice into the canister. So as the air goes through the intake it will be severly chilled helping me get more dense air into the engine. Has anyone ever toyed with this, what kind of gain over a cold air intake? Any ideas for what kind of insulation to use?
