New heads on 100k engine
 

I just installed a supercharger and would love to make the car as fast as possible without blowing it up. I see Trick Flow sell heads made for supercharged car. The manifold has the dreaded rear leak so would this be a good time to change the heads also? Is this good or will i end up with an engine that will have problems? Has anyone done this and how did it go.

You're already pushing it w/ the blower. The intake manifold is a 2 hour project.. swapping the heads, is not.

2 hour job? you must have done it a few times eh, i would guess more than double that for the first time

Not really. Its very straightforward. I had mine off in about an hour
my first time.

The blower should be alright ONLY with low boost (i.e. 4-6 psi) and a spot on tune. If you want to do heads and cam however, go for it. I did my heads/cam swap at 94,000 miles. Runs great.

i would say go for it.
If u blow it up - rebuild bigger and better

They will lower your compression so it might not be a bad idea...

I suppose i shouldn't have said guess, i've done it before and it seamed like it took longer, maybe i was being extra careful labeling everything and making sure it was all spotless before removing the manifold.

Yah, I've done it a bunch of times during heads/cam installs, motor builds, and a bunch of cam installs. I have all the connections in the car pretty much memorized so I just yank it all out and put it all back in w/ no worries.

Always gets done right/clean with no issues or leaks.

Pretty easy to do since all connections have a dedicated fit (other than the numbered injector connectors of course).

Agreed, although many people still choose to label everything not realizing you can't really mix it up. I guess I was also including vaccum connections, etc.

In any case, like I said, it's an easy job in comparison to swapping heads w/ the motor in the car (not so much that it's not easy, just a real pain in the ass)

As mentioned above, those heads will drop the compression a tad which might not be a bad thing for a forced induction application. However, with a 100K on the clock, I personally would be more inclined to set aside whatever extra funds towards a stout replacement shortblock and worry about better heads down the road.
