Well, I was on the way back from Columbus, OH heading towards Pittsburgh and my engine gave out. Man, it sounded nasty as hell, knocking really bad. I was going about 75 mph cruising in 6th gear, and downshifted to 4th to pass some slow idiots, immediately after I pulled out of 4th, my engine knocked really bad then quit. I pulled into right lane and waited a couple of seconds then tried to crank, no luck. Decided to pop the clutch to see what it really was, and boy it didnt sound very good. Ended up calling a tow truck company and they had their own garage. Gave em my cell number, 3 hours later I recieved a call from them and they told me that my crank or rod broke. This sucks, I didnt even touch my red-line. So now its time to consider my new engine possibilities, unsure on what set up to really go for. I really dont know too much about LT1's but have a lot of experience building engines. Can anyone tell me if its difficult? Any suggestions with anything? I would like for a set up of at least 400-425 bhp, however I want to go with reliable parts. Please make some suggestions, im left clueless here.
