New Delco MAF sensors.

I've been having problems with my MAF sensor in my Z-28 and I've been trying to get it fixed. To isolate the problem, I borrowed a MAF sensor from my friend's 97 Z-28. The SES light went out and the car ran great with his sensor in. I put my sensor back in and it ran like crap again. Stuttering, stumbling, all that good stuff.

So, a few weeks later, I bought a new MAF sensor from my local Chevy dealer. I was thinking everything would be great. I put it in, fired it up...SES light was still on. I decided to run with it for a few days and it never got any better. I had it scanned and P0100 came up again, just like before. So I figured it might be a defective part. I went back and exchanged it for another. I put the second new MAF sensor in the car and nothing changed. Still exibited all the same problems.

Today I borrowed a MAF sensor from yet another Z-28. I assume it's one original to the car, it sure looked that way. I put it in, the car fired right up and the SES light was out. I took it for a drive and it ran perfectly. So I knew something had to be wrong with the MAF sensors from the dealership. They were the right part number, but something was obviously different. I returned the MAF sensor and I will be buying one from a junkyard tomorrow like I originally intended to do. What's the point of this whole post? There might be a defect in the new Delco MAF sensors. I just wanted to give some warning to those of you that might be in need of one.

Just curious what the part number was. I got one on Ebay and it was around $75. It worked perfectly. I know they looks the same but one is for another model. You should have given the brand new on to your friend and kept his. lol

The part number on my receipt is 25179711 and from what I see online, the AC Delco part number is 213-353. I believe I remember searching for that part number to verify if it was correct for the car.

Gun5, what do you mean by your post?
