Need a straight answer....
^ correct...
The non-vented comes stock on 94's, and I think maybe a few 95's. It tends to wear out sooner because it more easily traps moisture and I believe it also gets hotter.
The vented opti can keep moisture out easier and remains cooler because of the vented air...
To switch to vented, you'll have to tap a line into your air intake to use as the vaccum for the optis vent line though...

So....if I do a cam swap....the non-vented will work just fine. with a 230/236 cam. I noticed that that openiong are different in size and I wanna make sure I get this before install...thanks fellas.
You can stick with a non-vented and not have any problems. Overall they seem to be more problematic, but it is not a guarantee. I am still running the original stock non-vented opti on my 94, with 80k miles...
Absolutely no problems...

I am still running the nonvented opti with my setup. There are advantages to changing over to the vented style plus vented optis are cheaper, but I just haven't ever gotten around to doing it. Its not going to hurt anything if you want to continue to run the nonvented opti.
