Need info on cats & 02's for 97 Z28

Are the cats on a 97 Z28 welded or bolted on & how many 02 sensors does a 97 have?

There is one cat welded into each side of the Y-pipe. The Y-pipe is actually in 2 pieces. Each piece has the cat welded into it.

There are 4 02 sensors. One before each cat, which adjust the air/fuel mixture once the car is warmed up. Then there is one after each cat, purely there to measure if the cat's are functioning properly.

So, 2 cats, both welded in, and 4 O2 sensors.

The rear O2 sensors can be removed through the PCM, or by getting O2 simulators if you wish.

Thanks man.
Yeah my cats are rattling all to hell, it sounds like sh%$.
The scan tool is getting reading before the cat but nothing after.
Im looking into high flow cats to replace the dead stockers.
The rear 02's can be removed through the PCM, the PCM is under the hood correct?

i'm not sure if it would adapt to stock exhaust manifolds, but i have a BARELY used random tech y-pipe with dual high flow cats on my car. it's rather expensive, but if you're interested, i'd consider selling it since i'm a bit low on money. i'm pretty sure you would have to have AS&M headers or RKSports to use it.
if interested, shoot me a message at mkent93@yahoo.com.
high flow cats aren't cheap, so if you're replacing them, this might be something to consider.

Thanks thats somthing i'll think about.

I have oner more question, I think im missing a cat.
Are both cats supposed to be next to each other where the Y pipe splits under the car?
I ask b/c I only see one & it looks like a pipe was welded in on the other side.
But there is something that looks like a small cat right after the drivers side exhaust manifold.

Yes, the drivers side cat is right below the stock manifold, next to the engine.

I think the passenger side cat is back further under the car.
