Need help with screwed motor

Ok, so the heat guage on my 97z28 apparently was stuck on regular operating temperatures while it overheated, and looks to have at the very least blown a head gasket and/or warped/cracked one or both of the heads.

I first noticed it when the engine would bog under accelleration, and steadily got worse. At first I thought it was the opti, since I've heard all sorts of horror stories. It finally got really bad and wouldn't idle steadily, then started idling at 2000rpm in neutral. I shecked the exhaust and there is a LOT of moisture in it (visible water on the ground behind the car).

So, I'm trying to figure out what to do, and plan for it. Should I just get a whole new motor, or just replace the heads(I'd like to get some better ones anyway)?

I'm just worried that if I only replace the heads the opti might still be messed up, and I'd like to avoid having to pay someone to pull it apart to diagnose it if I don't have to.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

Are you SURE it's screwed? Have you checked your oil for water yet? Lots of moisture from your exhaust can a number of things. Could the puddles behind your car have been gas? If you don't find water in your oil, and your not burning coolant/throwing white smoke you might just be a good candidate for being in Opti-Hell (or other electrical problems). Here's hoping :)
