Is it possible to screw up a nonvent opti install?
I always over think things.
This is my first LT1 rebuild and I have the 93 nonvent opti.
I assumed the keyway on the shaft could only line up one way and that was it. And now that im over-thinking things is it possible that i could have it 180*out. I didnt note the dowel loc. or timing marks when installed the opti. Is there an easy fix or Does it make a difference?
I thought one revolution of the cam = 1 rev. of the opti. But that stupid book has the vented in it and its screwin with my head.
I did a search and there is tons of info on the vented but not the Non-Vented opti.
BTW this is useless

I see a lot of people having this problem I had, put a new opti in won't start, checked the dowel a thousand times bla bla bla. Im not trying to bash any companies but I bought a jegs brand opti and thats exactly what it did, i figured it was defective so i sent it back three times. the third time i took the opti apart and the timing was completely off inside the actual opti. So for some reason they were giving me opti's timed completely wrong. At that time i just bought the MSD cap and rotor and the car has been fine ever since. Plus the MSD cap and rotor are sold as vented which will cause less problems in the future.
