Need Help Fast!!!

Ok guys, I need some help...I have no idea what is going on here...I went to the track today and when I am at WOT and at about 4k-4.5k in the RPMs and up the car sputters like it is not getting fuel....almost like it is misfiring...it also does this at lower RPMs once in a while too....like if I am crusing at like 50 at 2k on the tach and go to accelerate, it will sputter for a bit before it takes off...now I know most of you are going to say it is the opti, but I don't think that it is, I could be wrong, but the opti was replaced according to the reciepts that I got from the kid I bought the car off of at 72k and change....I just hit 90k, but it has been like 3 years since it was replaced since I don't drive that often....

Other than that I don't know what else to look at, I have half of my plugs changed at the moment because the others were too hard to get at and I didn't have the time, but the plugs I did replace weren't that bad anyway....I just replaced the fuel filter as well....I have no idea what it is and it seems to do it more when the car is warm...like above 190 or so....I have a 160 stat but the fans aren't wired to turn on at 160, so that would help at least a little, but I would like to fix the problem....

If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Have you replaced the coil recently? That's a common coil symptom...

Just a quick suggestion (though it probably isnt the fix) make sure non of your plug wires are damaged in any way.

One of my wires had moved and been partially cut through by a belt, and caused a similar problem to yours...

Well at least the drivers side of the wires is fine because I checked them when i changed my plugs...so I assume the other side is in the same condition....

Isn't the coil part of the opti?

Thanks guys

No, coil is seperate.
Coil is mounted on the driver side head right below the front of the valve cover.
It is part of the spark delivery system but completely seperate from the opti itself.

Ah, gotcha...is there a way that I can "test" that to see if there is something wrong with it? Or should I just replace it? Do you know how much they are?

Thanks guys

I ran terrible...because of this problem and it progressively got worse the warmer the car got...my best was a 14.4@98.xx and I got the damn stumble in every gear....and the runs progressively got worse along with the stumble, so I just gave up and let my car sit for the last few runs....it was a slow night anyway because it was so humid...

Cleaned your MAF? Fixed my high rpm studder. You could also try spacing the ignition module out from the head...it could be getting hot.
