need help with backfire!!!!!!!!!!!!please!

alright, I got new valve springs....my plan was to take the heads off in order to get the new springs on.... you know, take the heads off use a valve spring compressor and wa-la.... well I heard from somone that you dont have to take the heads off, which is weird to me. Anyways, to get things straight, I took the rockers off and now my valves arent adjusted right... its making the car backfire on that one side only! (I only messed with the drivers side head, and didnt even end up putting the springs on.)Ive tried everything, I adjusted them as best as I could and it still backfires.....what the hell is wrong with this thing? its really making me mad, I havent been able to drive my car in almost 4 monthes now.... also, I did all the mods in my signature as well, could those be a contributing factor? one thing thats not in my signature that I did do was replace the optispark.... please, if anyone can help me, I am all ears. sorry for the long post. thanks again guys.

If you took the rockers off and did not adjust them properly, (Search or check shbox.com) that will for sure cause it.

Yes you can change springs in the car, however if you are not very mechanically inclined, alot 2 days to get it done. Slow going and painful/hard to reach some in the back.

screw that, I would rather just take the heads off... haha, thats the way I was taught...I heard you have to use compressed air when doing it on the car to keep the valve in place... thanks bro....anyone else?
