Need Help

Okay i might be trading in my 98 V6 A4 w/ 81500 miles for a 95 Z28 w/ a lot of goodies (exp: Body kit, rims, very nice sound system, performance parts, etc...) A4 w/ 82,xxx miles. But i have a few question about trading in a car. Sorry for such a noob question but i havent traded in a car yet. Oh what mechanical problems should i look for when buying/trading a 95 A4 Z28 w/ 82,xxx miles also i will be test driving it and when i am test driving what else should i look for. BTW when i got to the dealer to look at the car a guy was very interested in buying the car so interested that he got a credit check and eveything and it all came out clean and all he has to wait for now is to get a loan from the bank. I was about to give up when the guy told me that but then the guys at the dealer told me that i still have a very good chance on getting the trade and that to call them Monday to see the the deal go through because there are more things that are involved when buying a car then just doing a credit check, Is that true? Sorry for such a long post but i really want that car so please help me out and it will be greatly apperciated. Also is the deal doesnt go through do you think it will be a good trade? Also it might be a staright up trade also but if its not how much do you think i will have to pay extra? Also What do you think the difference for insurance will be between the 2. BTW i pay $110 a month (1 speeding ticket) for the 6 right now, it was $90 something beore the ticket . How much of a difference do you think it will be for the Z.

Question
#1 What if my car isnt paid off yet?
#2 what is all involved in a trade (what all has to be done before a trade can take place)
#3 Do i inform the insurance company before or after the trade?

PS. Any other question i left out that is important when trading in a car that you want to answer/tell me.

If your car is not already paid off, the dealer will pay the balance owed on the car. But the difference will be added to the vehicle you are trying to get. I dont know your financial situation and how much money you have to put down or pay for this other car, but some banks will not give you a loan for the full price that the dealership is asking. You have to do your homework and research a little before, so you dont end paying more money than what the car is worth or paying high payments on a car that is used when you could be paying the same amount on a newer car. As for the insurance, just write down the VIN on the Z28, call your insurance company and they can figure out the difference in insurance payments for you. Hope this helps.
