Need experienced plug help guys!

For some reason Im haveing alot of trouble lately with my plugs. Last week the car was running like crap so I changed the plugs out after about 3000 miles. #3 and #4 were fouled or just not getting spark because the ceramic was a dark brown, black and smelled really bad of gas. The others werent too bad with 1,2,5,8 all tan and 7 looked like it was going towards 3 and 4. The color line on the electrode was almost all the way towards the base meaning too hot of a plug right? So I went from an autolite 106 .050 gap to a 104 .050 gap and the same thing happened. So which is it too hot, too cold? etc.

What could the problem be? I have no knock retard and the A/F was set on the dyno.

My compression is 11.1 and I have way more horsepower than stock. Is a different heat range or gap on the plug needed for my motor?

Cody how much timing are you running at WOT?

Also why did you go with less gap and a colder plug?

Anyone else???

Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but most people run the NGK TR55s gapped to .050 of NA applications. The TR6 is a very popular plug for those running nitrous and the tighter gap keeps the plug from having the spark blown out.

I went with a smaller gap because I had planned on sprayin after a while, so I went ahead and gapped them in between for now..I heard most peps go to a colder plug with a stroker..I am running 32 degrees timing at WOT and am getting 5-12degrees KR which is killing me..Still working on figuring that out..

Ok, makes sense now, didnt realize you were thinking about nitrous. Im running 35* right now so maybe thats whats hurting me. I didnt have any knock retard though which is weird...

I run 35 degrees of timing on NGK TR-55's with 11.5-1 compression and my car runs fine NA. I think it has to do with your idle and low RPM tuning.
