Need Advice on Spark Plug Wires/Plugs!

I have done a search, but could not find what I was lookin' for. Ok, I have been looking at getting some new spark plug wires and plugs for my Z. I have looked at Taylor Wires, MSD, ACCEL 9000+, Magnecor. I would like to know which are the better wire? I have heard problems with Taylors & MSD. Also I am looking at the NGK TR-IX Iridium Plugs, are these good plugs or not? It's a PITA to do spark plugs and wires on our cars so I don't want to have to do this again anytime soon. I'm lookin' for advice on what your experiences has been with, what's good, what's not so good? Thanks in advance.

I like the Iridium plugs. There's nothing wrong with stock wires.

I've been using the Taylor OVC kit and NKG TR55's for over a year now, and had no problems. They're great for me!

I'm using Magnecors simply because they are the only plug wires I've never heard a complaint about (this includes my experience on truck boards where there were tons of complaints about msd's). Since you hate doing it I'd run the Irdiums like Rich suggested.

I have heard that Taylor and MSD have had problems with arcing? Is this due to improper intallation? I'm just looking for the best possible wire, also do you have problems with the stock wire looms? Do you have to replace them? The stock wires are 7mm and the Taylor are 8mm and MSD are 8.5, do they fit in the stock wire looms? Again thanks for the replies.

Arcing can come from a poor install. You want #5 and #7 seperated from one another (applies to all the wires really). That's a typical problem on all SBC's since #5 and #7 fire one after the other. MSD's worked well when I used them on a truck but they have a copper core which can brake down fast (hence the short warranty).

Stay away from the Bosche Platinum +3 or any series for that matter. They sucked, the car started to backfire after a few days. There was a technical reason for this but i forget what it was. I use the stock wires, they seem to last the longest

I have always used standard Bosch Platinums in my cars and never had a problem yet. In fact they are short enough that I don't even need to run heat shields on any of the plug wires

I went with some wires made by Taylor that I bought at pep boys when I did mine. Those wires suck my ***, don't get any taylor wires. I agree with what someone said above, stock wires are fine, plus they are a little smaller and will be easier to route behind the power steering pump, because that's a PITA.

As for plugs, I bought some factory replacements. That other ones lasted me for 100k miles with no problem, so I don't see a need to go with a diferent brand.........
