is my crank sprocket on far enough? **picture**

Kind of hard to see from that angle, but there is a little bit of space behind the gear still. The gear is completely over key (not sure what you call it) on the shaft, but there is still some room back there.

Should I pound it on until it is flush up against there?

...that pic is a bad angle....can't tell if it is flush or not....but yes...put it on so it is contacting metal to metal....all the way

the back of the sprocket has a lip that sticks out so it looks good to me..
and be sure to clean out all that crap about to fall into your oil pan

If it is bottoming out on the front of the crank boss, it's on all the way.
