Mud???? In radiator....
My car was running a little warm today so I open the cap on the radiator and there was a muddy substance mixed in there. I am not sure what this is. The same stuff was there about 7-8 months ago and a freind and I flushed it out. What could this be and why is it in there again.

Sent you a PM.
I am also thinking that the heater core could be a problem. I understand that a few guys have had a problem and if you have to pull it out, it is a PITA. It could be your mix is not 50/50? Jim |
I had the same thing in my overflow resivoir when I flushed my system a while back. Take out the battery and take out the overflow acnister and flush it out. www.bfanker.badz28.com/fbody/guides.htm

Sorry heres the right link
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/coolant.htm I had tons of crap in mine(the overflow container) I just drained it filled it up with water, started it ran it for a min or two and drained it. Then filled it up again. No proplems since and its been runnig cooler. |
I would have to suggest just to make sure you do a thorough flush of the cooling system, fill up with pure water, run to temperature, turn off car, drain again, continue until fluids come out clear. Fill with 50/50 dexcool. This stuff gets grimy if it's dirty, try that out and see what happens guys.

Thats what I had to do a few months back... the temp gauge was sitting about 20 degree's higher than normal for a couple of weeks. Finally got around to doing a flush of the cooling system with distilled water... cycled it a couple of times to make sure everything was clean then filled it back up with a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water. The temps been sitting just below 180 every since.
