MSD install - tips and tricks?

Okay, I'm installing a MSD 6A on my Powerdyne-supercharged 96 Z28 this weekend.

I have the 6A, the plug-and-play harness 8877, new NGK TR55 plugs, MSD Superconductor wires, and MSD 8231 coil.

Is there anything special I need to know to do this install? I'll be working on a lift, with just about any tool I need (Navy auto hobby shop) and some people who know about cars in general, but does anyone have any tips/tricks for replacing the whole shebang?

Brent's website, though it gets lots of use from me for many things, has an install guide, but it's linked through Project Trans-Am, and the link is not working. So I'm a little clueless.

Thanks.

Re: MSD install - tips and tricks?

Not really. It is pretty straight forward, Hardest thind is deciding where to put it in an already cramped engine bay. I took off my main fuse box by the air intake by the headlights. I GENTLY turned it the other way and laid in underneath the bracket. I then installed the box in the fuse box location. I routhed the positive wire thru the radiator support to the other side by the positive distribution block. Remember to use a larger wire if you have to solder any on to the positive lead.I then connected the ground to the same stud on the drivers side head that has a few other grounds. Done. Took about 20 minutes and I didn't have to go under the car once.

i mounted mine right behind the fuse box, if u put it right behind real close you can mount it there with no problems, u will be able to take off the fuse box cover and will be able to close the hood with no clerance issues
