You should be able to drill out the pins holding the coil to the bracket and replace them with bolts. I'm not sure what brackets you're refering to.

Yep, that's exactly what I did last time when I installed the first coil.

But this coil came with a seperate bag with 4 screws and these 2 "L" shaped brakets.

Probably so you could mount the coil to a firewall. That coil is meant to be used on different applications that use the two wire system. Are they sheet metal screws or just regular old screws?

I got the same package. I don't know what that extra bag is for so I just threw it in with my extra parts that came with my 6AL. So if your question is do you need those, then nope, because I have been running without that extra stuff for some time now.

The L-shaped screws are for older alppications. That coil can also be used on pre-93 engines. My '92 had that coil, and those brackets help mount that coil to the intake.

Cool enough...

But gee MSD has the worst installation instructions yet ... No words no details just a picture. So I'm searching for like an hour trying to find the right Allen wrech and crap. LOL's this was my fist mode on my car... and I remember why I was frustraighted back then.... but it still only took me a couple hours...

Try installing a 6AL box without the special connector!!! I put one on my '92 before they had the connector out and that was a nightmare! The instructions blew and I had to call tech. to get it to work.
