Just leave it there.
I ran a hot wire and a ground wire back to the front. Connected each wire that I ran to the original battery terminals.

Since I race at the track I also had to mount a remote cut-off switch on mine. I bought a Moroso cut-off switch that includes a cutoff to the alternator exciter wire that I also had to run to the front of the car. I should have pictures of this project done in the next week or so.

Just as Ken stated. But you can also ground the battery in the back to the chasis and make sure the block has a good ground to the chasis as well. Remember, bad connection and grounding will result in bad starting and cranking of your car.

Secondly, don't do this unless you really have to. Because it will be a hassle to make it legal for the track as stated. You need a seal battery box that is mounted to the car and the battery mounted within. Plus a remote kill switch that is assessible from outside the car that is visble.
