Which mount did I break?...

It's coming from under my feet to the right. When I get on the gas or while I'm cruising if I go over any bump I get a clunk.

Second vote.... trans mount. Can you hold onto the shifter and accelerate and maybe see if you can feel the trans move around to help isolate problem ?

Yea, I can definitly feel the shifter moving around. But I can hear clunking coming from anywhere from the front to the rear of the car.

Yeah, this happened to my friend. It's gotta be the transmission mount.

It happens to my son's 95 TA (auto tranny) - every 3 months or so!

Re: Which mount did I break?...

Trany or Torque Arm, my Torque arm bolt stripped out and fell out, and the torque arm would come up and hit the floor pan, but the drive shaft was binding up some as well, check both

Re: Which mount did I break?...

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but how can I check the torque arm or the tranny mount itself? Can I wiggle the tranny with my hand?

Re: Which mount did I break?...

the tranny is pretty heavy so you probably won't be able to move it with your hand, but try putting a jack under it with some wood and see if you can move it that way, or use a long prybar and see if it moves. It shouldn't

Does anyone have the part number(s) for the transmission mount(s), M6 and Auto? Is there a better transmission mount than stock?

Re: Which mount did I break?...

Engery Suspension makes a polyurethane tranny mount that's pretty hard to break, but in talking to the guys that have it I hear it causes pretty intense vibration throughout the whole car.
