You aren't going to get answers when you post in the "Podcast" forum - nobody uses this forum because the Podcast was discontinued several years ago. That's why the topic of the "sticky" post at the top of the forum says "PLEASE do not post in Podcast forum.

I'll move your post to "LT1 Based Engine Tech", and leave an expiring redirect here so you can find your thread.

You can use the 1997 LT1 engine in your 1994 with the following differences:

- you have to use the knock sensor from your 94 engine in the 97 engine. There is an impedance difference in the sensors.

- some very early 94's had the oil pressure sensor above the oil filter, rather than on the top/back of the block. Either location works, but the harness wire may be an issue.

- the 97 will have a crankshaft position sensor in the timing cover, which is not used in the 94. Simply leave the sensor in place, with nothing connected to it.

- the 97 will have a vacuum detection switch for the EVAP system, mounted on the front/top of the passenger side valve cover. Either remove it, or leave it unconnected. Not used in 94.

- the 94 wiring harness connector for the Optispark distributor will not fit into the 97 Optispark. You need a new "short harness" between the gray test connector on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold to the Opti, from a source like EFIConnection.

- The 94 ignition coil uses a 2-connector setup, 97 has a single connector. Rewire, or swap coils.

If the 97 engine comes with the 4L60E automatic trans, the 94 PCM is not compatible with the 97 4L60E.
