mass air flow

I dont have the money right now to get a new one, so what is the interchangeability of these units. ive done some research and it appears that for my 94 96-1999 chevy pickups 1500,2500 and 3500 use the same one along with GM utility vans '96-2000. i also seen they are the same on 4.3 v6 in blazers. Is this true ? im not so sure about a v6 unit working on a v8.
look at the middle of the page to see what engine it fits...is it right http://allworldautomotive.com/auto_p...r_ots9127.html

That sounds right but don't take my word for it. I fried mine a while back (nitrous backfire) and I got one from the junkyard for 20 bucks. Been running it ever since.
