Mangled spark plug hole...fix???
 

I have a badly mangled spark plug hole that is far beyond just running a tap through to clean out the threads - already tried that. Anybody have any suggestions for repairing this?

I don't trust the cheesy tap & sleeve kits from Kragen/PepBoys/Fill-In-The-Blank...

FYI the heads are off the car so it wouldn't be hard to take to a machine shop. Motor is a 355 LT1 with only about 9:1 compression currently but will be getting a supercharger soon which will increase combustion pressures significantly, so the repair has to be strong. Don't want to launch a plug thru the fender ;) !!

take it to an auto machine shop, they should should be able to weld. drill and tap the hole, will be just like new
