Mahle Piston, Rods and GM cam ?'s (kinda long)

I finished tearing down my LT1 tonight and discovered that the pistons have Mahle on the inside of them. They are pressed pin pistons with 4 valve releifs in them. Is there some how that I can trace down the numbers on the net to tell exactly what they are ? Or is there someone on here that knows enough about these pistons that they can tell me. I bought the car like this so I have no idea what all was used when it was rebuilt. I haven't had a chance to get a set of calipers on the pistons either.

Also when I pulled the cam, I noticed that it was stamped on the cam "GMPT*BC *15***242*GMPT etc". Is this just the #'s for a stock 95 Z28 cam ?

One last thing, do the GM rods in the LT1's have any casting numbers on them ? The reason I ask is because, these rods are so smooth and clean that I am having a hard time believing they are stock. There is almost no sign of any "casting flash" anywhere. The seam marks are almost smooth but show no signs of grinding. Also, there are no numbers or anything on the rods.

Thanks Guys,

Mahle makes the stock pistons, and it's most likely the stock cam as well man.

If the rods are smooth they are probably Powdered Metal Rods which are a GM staple these days.

Some pics would help but I would bet they are all stock GM parts.

Thanks man, I just wasn't sure about all that, and I never knew about the Mahle thing. It's been a while since I tore into an LT1. I've been playing in the "traditional" s/b chevy land for about the past 5 yrs. I guess you do learn something new every day.
I would have taked pics but the battery in the digital camera are dead and I tend to be one of those procrastinating people. Oh well.

Thanks,

Almost all the OEM pistons these days are mahle cast units.
