Lt4 Production Cam

Im curious i know if i could use the 1996 Production LT4 cam with in my 95 LT1. Its not the same as the LT4 hot cam but its different then my stock. If i push the dowel pin to the correct length it should work no problem correct? Iv got the specs on all three cams this production cam is like mid way between the hot cam and the stock LT1 cam. Oh and im sure ill have to use 1.6 rockers also right?

It will work and like any cam you will have to check the dowel pin length. You don't HAVE to use 1.6 rockers but you may see a gain doing them with the cam. It should work great and it is a descent upgrade from stock. Still may want to check in the HotCam though, Cant beet it for the price and it passes emissions!

Why would you bother, the LT4 production cam is almost exactly the same as a normal LT1 cam. The difference is all in the heads and the 1.6RRs. I'd double check the specs you got, I can guarantee you that the production LT4 cam is not midway between the hotcam and a stock LT1 cam.
95 LT1 cam: 201/208 .447/.459 (w/1.5 rockers)
96 LT1 cam: 205/207 .447/.459 117 (w/1.5 rockers)
LT4 prod cam: 203/210 .476/.480 115 (w/1.6RRs)
LT4 hotcam: 218/228 .525/.525 112 (w/1.6RRs)

If I remember correctly, the LT4 cam actually has less lift if it were used with the same rockers as an LT1 cam.
