lt4 intake not fitting

Ok I got my new lt4 intake and gasket today from summit and took it to the shop and they said they set the intake down on a lt1block with lt1 heads on it and the intake did'nt fit.

how do alot of people around here have lt4 intake on lt1's with lt1 heads??

they said i'd have to have it machined too fit and the heads port matched or somthing.

let me know if i'm sol or if it can be done without alot of work.

thanks

That's because the LT4 intake does not bolt to the LT1 heads, only LT4 heads. You need to either get LT4 heads or port match your LT1 heads to mate the the LT4 intake.

THe LT-4 intake won't fit on the LT-1 heads without MAchining involved. LT-4 is differenct specs...And if your grinding down the LT-4 intake to fit the LT-1 heads all you'll really have made is a Powdercoated RED formerly LT-4 now.... LT-1 intake....

In order for the LT4 intake manifold to fit the LT1 block you have to do one of two things, 1st and with the most HP gain is to buy a set of LT4 Heads, 2nd, you could have your LT1 heads machined to fit the LT4 manifold. Don't be discouraged, do what ever it takes, there are no negatives when it comes to an F-Body!

How much did you pay for the Lt4 intake? Would you be interested in selling it? I have a Lt1 intake that has been ported out for a 58mmn throttle body and has also been port matched that I need to get rid of also.

Email me @ lilcochise@aol.com if you want to get rid of the intake..

Thanks,
Matt

Uhh, the only difference between the LT1 and the LT4 intake is that the LT4 intake is made to fit on LT4 heads. It isn't actually in any way a superior intake... they only made a new part to fit the new heads.

It's of no use on LT1 heads.
