Lt4 Conversion.

if i do the complete lt4 conversion ona 95z obdII,can i program the computer so no codes will show and still pass emisions?

are you talking about the complete LT4 conversion kit with the intake and heads aswell or just the Hotcam kit? The LT4 conversion is a complete waste of money IMO. you could get a LE1 h/c combo still pass emisions and make more power then you would with the lt4 conversion.

The "LT4 conversion" package is no longer being sold, because GM stopped making the LT4 intake manifold about a year ago.

so if i upgrade all that stuff,i can reprogram the pcm and it will still pass the dummy light test?

STAYBG87Z Jan 5, 2007 06:30 PM

95 is OBD-I.

People have passed dyno emissions tests with the LT4 HOT Cam and a good tune. There is nothing inherent to the LT4 "conversion" that would cause an SES light. It would just alter the actual tailpipe emissions. That's why you need a "tune" on the PCM.

If they did a "visual" and found the head and intake casting numbers did not match the "approved" part numbers, they could fail you, but most places don't bother to go into that much detail on a visual.

Exactly. Your VIN will tell them the car is OBDI, thus giving the car a sniffer test. However Fred is right. The LT4 hotcam will pass emissions easily with a catyletic converter and tune.
