LT1 wont idle and runs like crap
 

Hey guys, i just built a 350 lt1 cc306 motor, 1.6 crane golds, full ported heads, 30lb injectors, 58mm tb, longtubes, no emissions, going to have 4:10 gears, 3600 stall, and tranny things if i can ever get it running alright. I bought all of the equipment fron tunercat in order to tune the car. more than i bargained for. So, i called pcmforless. he sent me a tune and i flashed the pcm again, and it still runs like ****. WAY WAY rich everywhere. i changed the map sensor, i changed the maf. it had stock injectors and there was no difference with the tune and 30lb injectors, yes i know how to adjust valves and no my opti isn't bad. what the hell is going on?, OH! and it almost tries to idle a bit hearder when i have the maf UNPLUGGED!!?...any help is greatly appreciated.

You didn't mention fuel pressure.

You really need to add a "Signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and major mods. In this case, since you mention tunercat, we can guess that you have an OBD-I 94/95. But tunercats did make an OBD-II tuner, sold now under the JET name.

Have you scanned it for codes? Have you checked the fuel pressure? Have you considered scanning software, which we can review, and will help the tuner with his tuning?

What do you mean when you say "runs like crap" and "runs like ****"? Are we talking misfires, low power, backfiring, stumbling, surging, etc., etc. Or is it only running rich? What does "it almost tries to idle a bit hearder" mean?

i didn't put what my car was because you nailed it...tunercat lt1...its a 94:) as for anything else, its way rich, like i say, and by saying it tries to run "harder" with the maf unplugged. its because it basically wont with it plugged in. it even get more rich. im asking because its fuel injection, not because i dont know how to build a motor, if it would fit under the hood it very well could get a carb. Oh and fuel pressure...i have not checked, i drove it into the garage running excellent and with no lights on,.....does that tell you anything?...

up top, still need help with this i am going to post a log file. note that i did have to have the maf UNPLUGGED to get it to idle. its way rich and even richer with it plugged in.

Throw a stock PCM in it and pull an O2 to see how it runs.

Hey I have built mine its a 97 and its doing the same what the . Did any one find out what was wrong with urs

well i got mine running, 2 days ago, finally got fed up with everything and started winging it. Took my brand new NGK TR55GP plugs out and threw the old acdelco's in it and away it went, pulls like a crazy pornstar about 5 grand but still idles ****ty some times, other times it will idle. and it load up at idle. Not sure where my next step is but other issues im having is almost melting my fuel line at the back of my header bringing the car to the shop i use. And my pacesetter y pipe simply doesn't fit. That and i didn't have 3rd or 4th gear.
