LT1 Swap electrical trouble

Hi, I'm Jacob
Build: 1994 jeep Wrangler w/ 1996 Camaro LT1.

Standalone wiring harness.
I'm getting pulse to my injectors
power to optispark.
"No power to coil,ICM"
I noticed a few pins on pcm connectors, the tan/white wires do not have a ground. I'm wondering if this is my no spark culprit. But this is my 5th try jumping wires and praying I don't get a big hammer and destroy everything. I will do anything to help assessment my issue. Pictures, diagrams, first born child... thanks in advance

Re: LT1 Swap electrical trouble

You sent me an email about this problem. You told me it was a custom built harness. I suggested you trace the power wires for the coil an ICM. With a custom harness, no one but the builder of it is going to know for sure where the wires go. I suggested you contact the builder and maybe he has a schematic he made the harness from. You can consult the stock wiring schematics (some of which are on my website), but if the builder of the harness deviated from that, only he would know. He should have had a schematic drawn out to work from in order to make the harness.

Hi Rob, forgive me I didn't receive your reply From eariler post, I'm grateful you found my post here. I will remove everything and retrace it myself. I noticed an orange and pink wire cut from the pcm this morning (tucked into the loom). Sorry to repost nonsence. This couldn't posibly help anyone else. Thanks again

Hopefully you are aware of Rob's resources for solving this problem, including a detailed photo of a stock wiring harness, the pinouts for the PCM connectors, and the wiring diagrams for a 95 PCM, which is very similar (although not the same, excluding CKP sensor, after-cat O2 sensors, EVAP detection switch) to the 96 PCM.

Additionally, you can download a free copy of the 1996 factory manual, which will have the additional info on the CKP, after-cat O2's and the EVAP vacuum switch.

Re: LT1 Swap electrical trouble

Indeed I do. I have nearly 50 photos on my phone and tablet from robs site. I've studied For weeks now. The manual however would be perfect. I'm ashamed I haven't spent $30 on one yet. Tha ks for the link Injuneer.

Re: LT1 Swap electrical trouble

Should I intigrate the harness into my Engine compartment fuse/relay system? or keep it like he instructed. Just strait wire all but the 2 ignition wires he told me to put together and tie into my yellow igswitch

Re: LT1 Swap electrical trouble

The PCM needs both switched 12V power, and constant 12V power for the volatile memory. Look at Shoebox's PCM wiring diagrams.
