LT1 swap
LT1 swap
As of now, I have a 94 3.4l Camaro, and have been interested in the LT1 swap, thanks to you guys I now know everything involved. Just today I found a salvage yard near my house with a 1995 LT1 from a Z28 with 76XXX on it. The guy said if I give him the 3.4l engine and other things, which is everything in this swap, for $1,500. It comes with engine, tranny, driveshaft, rearend, gastank, front k-member, shocks/struts, springs, gauge cluster and some other things. Another thing I would like to know, because I have to supply an exhaust system, is which would be a good header/cat-back combo to get and how much am I looking at for that. I know this is a good price, if the engine is in good condition, which I will find out eventually. Thanks again.
As for headers, SLP shorty's are supposed to be good. Cost-$590 or so. Long tubes you're lookin at $600 for coated Hookers or about $530 for Jet-Hot LTs says Chris from Jet-Hot. For exhaust theres a lot of options. True duels or a cat-back ranging from $300 for stainless steel SLP Loud Mouth which I hear is good and pretty damn loud and then higher up in the overpriced systems is Borla at $600 at Jegs and Corsa runs mid to high $700s. Then you have to fit a y-pipe in there which would be better if made custom for your combo. Any exhaust shop should be able to fab one up for $100-200. Theres a lot more options out there, search around the forum. Everyones goin to say something different and it just comes down to money and what you want. As for me I'm goin Jet-Hot LT-off road y-pipe-Borla 3" adj. cat-back. Good Luck w/ you're LT1 HTH.
