Angry LT1 Swap

I have this same question in 3rd Gen Tech wasn't sure which area to post.

Ok some background, I swapped a 96 LT1 from a b-body, and had it programmed back to 95 and OBDI with VATS/AIR/CAGS/A/C/EGR delete.

I can turn the engine over now, and I get spark fuel pump running, everything, EXCEPT the injectors aren't firing, I have power to them, but it's like the PCM is not triggering the injectors, or so I thought.

I tested the injectors and they fire, and I tested the PCM and it runs my dads roadmaster wagon for 2 seconds until vats kills it. (I know need to recheck it is programmed out) but on my car it just does nothing as far as injectors.

anyones thoughts on this is appreciated.

thanks

Re: LT1 Swap

Maybe your injectors are clogged? When I swapped a 94 engine in my 93, I was having the exact same problems. I swapped the injectors and everything worked fine. The engine sat for a couple of years before I swapped it so the injectors rusted inside and were letting no fuel flow through them.

Re: LT1 Swap

I thought that, but I "test" fired each one with 12V from the batt and only 1 is dead (currently finding replacements on ebay).

Re: LT1 Swap

If you need some stock injectors, I can sell you mine with only 35,000 miles on them. (cheap cause I have no use for them).

not sure, I know I have to complete Buick harness, as I pulled the engine and harness originally, I only cut once I was inside the car, so everything from the firewall into the engine is complete.

I might have to unwrap and check through it thought.

Re: LT1 Swap

Do you have the wiring diagram from the Buick?
Check the wiring from each injector to the ECM connectors for continuity..injector fuse?

Continuity is perfect for all 8 injectors. Power is coming down on the other wire, 12V+ Fuses are still good.

Is there something in the ingnition wiring that would cause them not to fire?

I just don't get if the spark plugs fire then the PCM must be seeing the correct information as far as ignition and turning over.

Re: LT1 Swap

Not sure about the ignition effecting the injectors..don't think so.
Are you sure you have fuel pressure at the rails?

If your PCM has the VATs removed, why would you dads car shut off with your PCM running it?

I suspect VATS hasn't been properly disabled, we are using LT1 Edit, if you have any insight into that.

And I do have fuel and pressure at the injectors, as I did test fire them, and the car would start and then die as the fuel in each cylinder was used up.

Re: LT1 Swap

Sorry, never used it. I had my PCM done at Agostino in Toronto, I've never touched it myself.
