LT1 install?

Has anyone here ever or can I install an LT1 motor in an 94 Camaro with the MANIFOLDS STILL BOLTED ON? has anyone every done this? I would hate to install manifolds while in car.

from the bottom you can. Not sure from the top.

I think we pulled mine out of the top with the stock manifolds still on, so in theory, it can go back in with them on.

EDIT: Just checked photos, we did pull it with them on the engine.

OK cool thats what I thought. I should have some wiggle room on the sides. Im just trying to get my car back on the street. I miss my ride. Eventually Ima go with headers cam etc.. just like my old motor (in sig)

I pulled mine out the top with the manifolds attach. some paint came with them, though. Should have been more careful.

Actually, installing the manifolds is pretty easy with the engine in the car. I've done it a time or two.....

Does it require me jacking up the motor unbolting the motor mount pins. I remember when installing my jet hot long tubes. I had to jack the hell out of that motor to get those headers to drop in.

No..just feed the DS up from the bottom and bolt it on. The starter might be in the way on the PS, I don't remember. Installing long tubes was a LOT harder than bolting in the stock manifolds....

I installed my motor from the top with shorty headers still bolted in place.

OK thass cool. I think Ill have too many problems. On one of my other post I asked another question in regards to PCM. I didnt realize that 96 LT1s were OBDII. Well my camaro is 94 OBD1 wiring harness. Im picking up the motor this weekend but I wanna make sure the harness will work with the OBDII if not I got problems.
