Lt1 Help Asap

Well I posted my situation about what happen to my car but I'll make it short and brief for whoever didnt it read it. I was driving normal and all of a sudden my car just turn off so I pull over and chill and tryed it again and nothing. I test the coil and it is getting spark but I havent check the fuel pressure yet because I dont have a gauge to test it. I did my tune up about a month and opti was change at 135k and my car has 160k now. Any ideas what it can be. I need help asap so that I can get my car running soon.

I would push donw the sheard valve for your fuel line and see if gas is comming out (it is located behind the intake manifold)

let all the presure out the turn the ignition on (dont try to start it but just put it to the on postion)

try to lissen for the fuel pump to turn on (best if you have a friend turn the key while you lisen under the back of the car near the fule tank)

if u dont hear it come on then check the fuse (even if the fuse looks ok go ahead a switch it out just to make sure)

while your at it give a good look to all the fuses under the dash and under the hood.

IF the pump did turn on check the sheard vavle for presure agin do this a few times. (take notice if ther is air comming out of the valve or if it is just gas

BECAREFULL dont set you are the car on fire might want a fire extingeser onhand

Also check to make sure the spark plugs are getting spark (stick ur finger in the wire boot and crank the car, if ur arm jumps then ur getting spark

That is where i would start

hmmm not so sure if i would stick my finger in the wire to test and make sure its getting spark... but i do agree that if you have no guage you can release the pressure from the fuel system by pushing on the shrader valve, then prime the system, then press it again, if nothing comes out then you know the pump is dead

don't know how hard it is to pull plugs on lt1, i've never done it but if it isn't that difficult find the easiest to get to and pull it if the plug is wet w/ fuel then you probably have a spark problem. while it's out see if you are getting spark by sticking the plug back on the wire and grounding it out. If you got spark you probably need to look at the fuel side of things.
