My friend has a 1997 LT1 fbody and sometimes it starts reallllly hard. It is almost as if the battery is weak or he has to much compression for the starter to handle (which is not the case on a stock motor/starter). Whe have checked voltage on the battery and found it to be right at 12vdc then we checked the voltage coming out of the alternator and at idle it was 29vac. I don't know if that is appropriate vac coming out of the alternator or not? If that is correct then what could the issue be?
