I know this is a camaro forum but my brother has a 1995 Corvette LT1 6-speed. We cannot find out what his transmisson is called and what gears does he have in the rear end? Can anyone help? Thanks

 

He has a T56 transmission and I think he has 3:42s in the rear. I'am not positive on the gears tho.

 

i had a 92 6 speed corvette in 94....i believe it was 3:45 rear end gears...
BTW, was going through old time slips the other day, on stock tires, i did like a 13:8@103 mph..no mods whatsoever..

Are you sure on the T56 because thats what i have in my car 1997 Z28 6 speed and he said it looks totally different. Can anyone else back that answer up? I do believe he has 3.45s in the rear but i know the 6-speeds came with another gear number but i am not sure. Is there anyway to determine these things by the VIN number? Thanks for the replies.

 

its a Z/f 6 speed very different from a t-56 as for the gears what is the rpo code

You can find the rpo codes is the center console or the glove box cant remember the prefix for vet gears ours are gu

as for another name ? know it was used in big trucks first
